Keto Diet program
The keto diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that significantly reduces carbohydrate intake and increases fat intake to encourage the body to use fat as an energy source. The main goal of the keto diet is to lower insulin levels (a hormone that lowers blood sugar) and somewhat deplete glycogen (carbohydrate) stores that the body initially used for energy. This state is called "ketosis," and at this time, the body obtains energy from fat.
A typical keto diet meal plan includes the following:
- High-fat foods: Avocado, nuts, cooking oil (olive oil, coconut oil, etc.), butter, and cheese
- Meat and fish: Beef, pork, chicken, fish, and seafood
- Low-carb vegetables: Leafy greens, cauliflower, broccoli, and zucchini
- Limited carbohydrates: Low-sugar fruits (such as berries), seeds, and small portions of legumes (beans and lentils, etc.)
Please note that a keto diet may not be suitable for everyone, and it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional or nutritionist before starting any new diet.
